Eileen Rose [voc. guitar and composer] about her new band :

Nicholas Giadone Ward (bass):
Nicky is my nephew.  We're currently touring the US as a duo (Nick on guitar) with Michael McDermott and then Tim Finn (Crowded House, Split Enz, Finn).  Nicky has been part of the Holy Wreck for two years.  He played bass on my new album,  At Our Tables and was part of the band for our 2006 European tour.  He will also play piano on our upcoming tour.

Rich Gilbert (guitar and pedal steel):
We are happy to announce that The Holy Wreck now includes one of my all-time favorite guitar players and long-time Boston peer, the incomparable Rich Gilbert.  Rich is making waves now in his newly adopted home of Nashville but is legendary for his early bands Human Sexual Reponse, The Zulus and Concussion Ensemble. He's played guitar and pedal steel for such diverse artists as Frank Black, Throwing Muses, Tanya Donnelly, Thad Cockrell & Caitlin Carey, Uncle Tupelo and The Lemonheads. And now us. We're honored to have him.  He'll be playing guitar and pedal steel on this tour.

Robbie Solz (drums):
Robbie is from Boston.  He's a graduate from the legendary Berklee School of Music.  He's played with the best Boston has to offer (Entrain, Dennis Brennan, Tim Gearan) and is also a songwriter.  He is an incredible player and we're delighted to have him with us. He'll be playing drums and singing back-up on this tour.

Eileen Rose: "Never Be The Same"  (MP3, 3:53)

Keep on Coming: Though she looks pretty ordinary, like a thousand hardscrabble folk singers in a million smelly bars scattered from coast to coast, London by way of Boston's Eileen Rose is someone altogether different. Going against the tide of tarted up, know nothing 20-something females intent on spreading ignorance like the plague, Rose sings "I've got a good book and a bottle and I'm staying in," and damn, if you don't want to join her. Rose's third album, Come The Storm, is full of slow boil, simmering roots rockers that sound like Chrissie Hynde, Nico and Lucinda Williams closing the bar and raising the roof. Rose sings with the voice of experience, of hard won independence, of lessons learned and plenty of men cornered, conquered and perhaps discarded along the way. Not many albums could survive a menu of mostly medium tempo and slower songs about lost dreams and the mean streets of life, but Come The Storm is that rare work that slows you to its pace, bends you to its message. Rose is a dramatic singer and songwriter with reserves of power, whether plonking mechanical piano notes over a marching snare cadence in "Compass," getting all honky tonk in the rockabilly freedom call, "White Wave," or rocking the house clean in the blissful "Last New Year's Eve." Rose captivates. Though tortured, or at least determinedly introspective, seems her natural state, changing personas comes easily as well. "Never Be The Same" cries out for country rock chart topping status, the majestically drunken "Stagger Home" trips the groove fantastic as easily as sleeping off a hangover. Through it all, whether she's weeping for the past or worshipping a call to arms, Rose's gorgeously sexy, throaty, rough, ready, Edith Piaf-meets-Cobain howl is sublime stuff.  See http://www.eileenrose.com/.

"The arrival of a forceful talent whose day will surely come." - MOJO

"Makes you want to roar down the highway with the windows open and a finger on the repeat button." - ROLLING STONE

"Turns out that Rose can write as well as rock, a talent that's evident throughout this passionate song cycle." - THE WASHINGTON POST

"Her passionate deliver and bluesy, stripped-down sound recalled Dylan in his protest days...Stunning" - THE TIMES, LONDON

"Shes a woman hot-wired to her muse and she knows exactly where her considerable talent is taking her." - UNCUT

"Boston's Eileen Rose has recorded an exceptional album that deserves to make her huge...as much bite as PJ Harvey" - BLOOMBERG

"Dirty, drawling interpretations of the country she loves. Its Nashville with attitude for the 21st century. Not Sheryl Crow, in other words." - NME
